Sneak Peek Stampin’ Up! Products – Facebook Live!

Laura Milligan Stampin' Up! 2021-2023 In Color and New Product Samples - Id Rather Bee Stampin' Facebook Live

My Facebook Live this week featured a peek at our new In Colors!   Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Polished Pink, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia.  I am loving these new colors – and how beautifully they coordinate with each other.  They are so soft and pretty.

If you missed my Facebook Live, you can watch the replay below! I kept my cards pretty simple – and each one features one of the new In Colors –  Inks, Designer Series Paper, Gems and Ribbons.   I used Stampin’ Blends on two of the cards.

My cards also featured a new bundle from the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalog – the bundle is the Flowers of Friendship Bundle and features the stamp set and the Flower and Leaves punch.

Bee Creative Tutorial – Friendly Flamingo Framed Card

friendly flamingo card with forever greenery Laura Milligan

Sharing one more card today with the Friendly Flamingo Bundle!   This one also uses the retiring Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper.

I created a white frame with the Stitched Rectangle dies and placed the DSP below.  This was all attached to a Flirty Flamingo card base.

My flamingo was cropped from Flirty Flamingo cardstock with the flamingo die.  I cut two wings – one in flirty flamingo and one in basic black.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Flirty Flamingo – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 – scored at 4 1/4- card base;   2 1/2 x 4 for die cuts
  • Basic White:  4 x 5 1/4 – cut 2; 3 x 3 for die cuts
  • Basic Black – small piece for die cut and eye
  • Forever Greenery DSP: 4 x 5 1/4

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1.  Fold Flirty Flamingo panel in half to create card base.
  2. Use the Stitched Rectangle die to create a frame on one of the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White panels.  Adhere the other panel to the inside of the card.
  3. Stamp two small flowers with Flirty Flamingo Ink, and the green leafy image with Garden Green Ink onto Basic White cardstock and crop with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and the coordinating dies.
  4. Crop the Flamingo and the detailed wing with Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  Crop the larger wing with Basic Black cardstock.
  5. Assemble the card by adhering the Forever Greenery DSP to the card front.  Attach frame next with dimensionals.
  6. Attach the Greenery die cut on the bottom of the card, and use dimensionals to attach the two flowers, tucking a black/white Baker’s Twine bow below one of the flowers.
  7. Use Tombo Liquid Glue to position a small scrap of Basic Black cardstock behind the flamingo for the eye.   Use a Basic Black Blend to color the beak black.
  8. Attach wings to each other with Tombo Liquid Glue and position onto flamingo with a dimensional.

Friendly Flamingo Card Duo – Facebook Live Take Two!

Friendly Flamingo Cards Laura Milligan Facebook Live Take Two April 22 2021

I created two more cards with the Friendly Flamingo Bundle for my Facebook Live Take 2 yesterday.  The first is a slim line car and the second is an easel card.  You can watch the replay by clicking below!

MEASUREMENTS:  Card One:

  • Thick Basic White Base – 7 x 8 1/2, scored at 3 1/2
  • DSP –  blue :  3 1/4 x 8 1/4;  sand:  1 1/2 x 8 1/4 – tear along long side; use a small piece to create a sandy look on the inside of the card as well
  • Flirty Flamingo – use pieces of cardstock to cut out six flamingos and wings
  • Basic Black – small pieces to attach behind the flamingos for the eyes

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Adhere Basic Black cardstock behind the flamingos for the eyes.  Some will be facing left, some right – so glue the black cardstock on the appropriate side for the eyes.  I did this with Tombo Liquid glue – you really just need a small drop or two.
  2. Tear the strip of “sand” DSP and attach to the blue DSP.
  3. Adhere the Flamingos to the DSP – facing different directions as shown in the photo.
  4. Emboss the wings with the Forever Greenery Embossing folder and your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, and adhere the wings with Tombo Liquid Glue.
  5. Attach a Black/White Baker’s Twine bow to one of the flamingos with a glue dot.
  6. Stamp You’re Outstanding onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and crop with the Ornate Frame die.  Attach to card front with dimensionals.
  7. For the inside of the card, tear a small strip of the “sand” DSP and attach to inside panel of card.  Add a flamingo with Tombo Liquid glue.

Friendly Flamingo Easel Card by Laura Milligan Stampin' Up!

The second card is an Easel card – it’s fun to make and quite easy!

MEASUREMENTS:  Card Two:

  • Melon Mambo –  4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (card base),  3 x 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4
  • DSP:  cut two strips 1 1/4 x 4
  • Blushing Bride:  2 3/4 x 4 1/8; 1 3/4 x 2 3/4
  • Basic White: 2 5/8 x 4; 1 1/2 x 2 1/2, small piece for flower headpiece

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Attach the two strips of DSP to each side of the Melon Mambo card base.
  2. Attach the large strip of Melon Mambo cardstock to card base – centering over the two DSP strips.  Place the scored part of this strip on top.
  3. Stamp the flamingo with Melon Mambo ink onto Basic White panel.  Stamp the words and flowers onto the small piece of Whisper White panel, and use Daffodil Delight ink to stamp the small flowers and crop them with the coordinating die.
  4. Layer the flamingo panel onto the Blushing Bride panel and attach to the lower half of the scored Melon Mambo piece.  Avoid putting adhesive on the top half of the flamingo as it will prevent the top section from folding back to form the easel.
  5. Adhere the Daffodil Delight Flowers to the Flamingo’s head with a dimensional.
  6. Layer the word panel onto the Blushing Bride panel and attach to card front with dimensionals.
  7. To finish the card, add the dot and the Whisper White Baker’s Twine bow.   If you have any questions, please watch the video for clarification!
