Choose Happiness

Another one of my favorite stamp sets – Choose Happiness. Love love love this set!
Here’s how I put this card together –
I started with a base of Night Of Navy cardstock – cut 4 1/4 x 11.  Next layer is 4 x 5 1/4 and is Crumb Cake.  Very Vanilla is next – and is cut 3 3/4 x 5.
For the stamping, I used the Memento Black ink pad (a must have!) to stamp the greeting and the little design the bird stands on. (not sure what to call it?)
I then stamped the leaves and used my aquapainter and colored it with Old Olive ink.  The bird sits on top and was stamped in Night of Navy ink.
I also added some “grunge” using the speckled stamp from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set – stamped with Crumb Cake Ink.  I wanted these speckles to be very light so I stamped off on a piece of scrap paper before I  stamped them on my card front.
The burlap layer was created using the large scallop framelit (another of my favorites!)  I found that it  cut the burlap easier if I added a shim of cardstock on top of the framelit as I ran it through my big shot.
To finish the card, I just put it all together and added a Vintage button and a bit of linen thread.  Also used the corner rounder for some of the corners.
If you would like to recreate this card, all products are listed below and by clicking on any of the images you will be taken directly to my online store. And I will work on a video for this card this weekend!

Thanks for visiting today – I am off for Day 2 of a fundraiser I am doing for Pathway Caring For Children Organization. I am working with kids (both boys and girls) who have grown up in foster care, and are part of Pathway’s Independent Living program.  I’ll tell you more about it next time!   It has been a wonderful experience for me – and to say that my heart strings have been tugged at is probably an understatement!
