Creative Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to my Blog!  To those of you who are here because of the Creative Blog Hop, I thank you for visiting! Donna Kish asked if I would be willing to participate in this hop and I thought it sounded fun! Donna is super talented!

My card today uses my favorite bundle, Butterfly Basics, from the newly released Occasions Catalog.  Love the stamp set and framelits !  This bundle is offered in wood mount, clear mount or photopolymer stamps! How great is that! (and they are discounted 15% if you order the bundle!)

To create my card, I started with the Sweet Sadie washi tape – and used these colors for my card  – pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe and basic black.

This card went together very quickly.

I started with a base of 4 1/4 x 11 of Whisper White cardstock and scored it at 5 1/2.

Inks used: Memento Tuxedo black, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe.
The butterfly was  cut out using my Big Shot and the gorgeous butterfly framelits that are part of the Butterfly Basics bundle.   I finished the butterfly with a rhinestone.

Since my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set is always on my desk – I grabbed one of the stamps, and added a few light “splotches” with Pistachio Pudding ink.

I punched a Whisper White circle with the 2 inch circle punch – and used the  embossing folder to create texture on the circle.

The Sweet Sadie Washi Tape secured the tea lace doily (this is just a 1/4 piece of a doily) in place.
I added a “swirl” of white bakers twine and finished the card by adding the embossed circle and butterfly.

And here is another similar card that I wanted to share -just added a crisp canteloupe circle and changed up the greeting.

And here are my answers to the blog hop questions –

1. What are you working on?  I am working on catching up with blog samples and class projects.  My oldest daughter got married two weeks ago and I have been very focused on creating things for her wedding – it was beautiful and I was thrilled to get to use my love of crafting and stamping to add some special touches to her wedding!  Now, getting back to more regular blog posting and creating.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre? Hmmm, well, I guess my stamping is quite clean and simple.  I like to use neutrals and have a great love for anything vintage and enjoy creating projects with a vintage feel.   I have built my business using clean, quick and simple projects – We all lead super busy lives these days and I love projects that are quick, but still look great!
3.  Why do you create what you do? I love to create – it is fun!!  I have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 15 years and love sharing and teaching others the art of stamping!  I am a firm believer that anyone can stamp – even those who see themselves as not creativie at all – they just need someone to show them how – and I love to be that someone!  Being a demonstrator has changed my life and hopefully through my stamping and sharing, I can inspire and bring joy to my friends and family.
4.  How does your creative process work?  I have a beautiful stampin’ studio that I call “the Bee Spot” -it is my favorite place to “bee!” I find time nearly every day to create – I often have an idea in my head –  I pull some papers, inks and stamps – and try several different ideas and layouts before I come up with my final project.  Most of the time my final creation is not close to the idea I originally started with!

Next week, I have asked two special stampin’ friends to participate in the blog hop – Lisa Lange – she is super nice and super talented.  I always look forward to spending time with her when I travel to a Stampin’ Up! event.  I can’t wait to see what she will share next Monday!

My second friend  is Lee Conrey. She is a special lady and  I have been blessed to get to know her through my trips to Founder’ Circle.  I know she will have something great to share with you next Monday!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Please let me know if you have any questions on my card!  Always love to receive comments – let me know what you think of my card today!
