Tea Party

We had such a wonderful time at our tea party for my mom’s birthday!  Just wanted to share a few photos!

All ready for the guests to arrive –

Here is the favor I made for everyone – it held a little tea bag with a cute friendship poem.  Some of the ladies who came have been friends of my mom’s for over 60 years!  (see below for measurements for favor)

Here is a close up of the poem  –

Tea party food!

We served yummy food – chicken salad, cucumber sandwiches, cream scones with devonshire cream, lemon curd tarts, mini muffins, maple oat scones, and of course a birthday cake.

We all ate too much but we decided it was ok because it was a party after all! And here is a picture of my mom, my daughter Sarah and me.

See this post to see the invitation I made for the tea party.

Here are the details on the tea party favor!

I used the Cup of Tea stamp set.  The base of the tea holder was cut from Whisper White card stock – 4 inches x 7 1/4 inches.

I scored the base at 1 1/2 inches, 4 1/4 inches and 4 1/2 inches.

I folded on the 1 1/2 inch score line to create a little pocket for the tea bag, using sticky strip for a good hold.

The poem was simply typed up and printed on Whisper White card stock –  and punched with the Decorative Label Punch.

For the front of the tea bag holder – I stamped the “You’re my cup of tea” stamp with Pink Pirouette ink onto Whisper White card stock and used one of the oval framelits to cut it out.

I placed a 2 1/2 inch x 4 inch piece of Pink Pirouette patterned paper onto the front of the tea bag holder.  This paper is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.  Love these stacks of paper!

I popped up the stamped image with dimensionals – and wrapped a piece of Whisper White satin ribbon around the entire thing and tied a big bow.

The pink flower was a perfect match it is from the Artisan Embellishment kit.  You get quite a few of these lots of these in this kit, along with some other fun buttons, papers, doilies, etc.

I have listed all supplies used on this project for your shopping convenience!

Thanks for stopping by!

Laura, Everything is so elegant and gorgeous down to the last little detail. The food presentation is worthy of a top chef, and the cake in the background makes my mouth water. How beautiful that you and your daughters created such a special party for your Mom.
