Welcome to December’s Blog Hop! We are sharing Christmas projects with a non-traditional color scheme!  You won’t see any red or green on this hop!

My project today is a giant chocolate bar wrapped and decorated.

It’s fun to give these as gifts – but I’ve taken it a bit further and added a little pocket that will hold a gift card. This is one of my favorite ways to give a gift card – it makes it seem more like a present – and who wouldn’t want a big chunk of chocolate?

I used the lovely Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper – just pick your favorite piece and wrap it around the candy bar and adhere in place.    I added a 2″ strip of a different paper from the pack and wrapped it around the candy bar.

For the focal point, I made a pocket/envelope to hold a gift card.  I used the black and white check designer paper – and cut the piece
2 3/4″ x 7, and folded it in half.  I used Tear and Tape to hold the sides of the card together.  I punched half a circle with the 1 3/8″ circle punch – this will make it easy to slip the gift card in and out!

Next I did some layering – I made a swirl of Silver Baker’s Twine and attached it underneath the gift card pocket.  The Silver Baker’s Twine is a sneak peek – it will be available in the Occasions Catalog starting in January.  I added one of the Foil Snowflakes –  do you love these as much as I do? I want to put them on everything!

My stamped image is from the Watercolor Christmas Stamp set. I used black ink and stamped the words onto Whisper White cardstock – and cut with the largest circle in the Stitched Shapes framelit set and my Big Shot.

To finish my candy bar gift, I added a Silver Glimmer dot.  I was tempted to add more layers, but I wanted something that would be easy to make in multiples.
