Thanks to all of you who shared your favorite type of cake on my weekend blog post give away! You really made me want a big piece of cake with lots of icing!!
The winner of my giveaway is:
Jan- I’ve sent you an email about your prize! Congrats!
We never really want to make Sympathy cards, but they are cards that we need. Today I am sharing a beautiful sympathy card that features a color combination of Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black.

I love using butterflies in sympathy cards, as they are a symbol of the Resurrection.
This butterfly was cut from the Bold Butterfly framelits and my Big Shot. This is a framelit that you’ll want to use the Precision Platform with – it aids in removing the little pieces of the framelit. I also like to use the Big Shot Die Brush with this type of detailed framelits.
The butterfly rests above the circle that I punched with the 1 3/4″ circle punch. She is popped up with a mini dimensional and embellished with pearls.
The black stamped image is from Touches of Texture stamp set, a favorite of mine. I love in this card how it adds a delicate bit of black to the card, in contrast with the bright Lemon Lime Twist designer series paper.
“With Sympathy” is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
Measurements for this card:
Card base: Whisper White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 5 1/2″; 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ panel; 3″ x 1/2″ banner
Basic Black: 3″ square to butterfly
Lemon Lime Twist dsp: 4″ x 5 1/4″
