Trimming the Town Meets Wrapped in Christmas for FMS 451

My card today features the Coming Home Bundle.   This bundle was one of my Top Picks from the August – December Mini Catalog.  I chose this suite of products as my “most feel good” pick because for every stamp set sold, Stampin’ Up! is donating $3 to charities devoted to adoption, foster care and infertility.

One of my favorite parts of this suite is the car!  I am really not a car person at all – but I love VW bugs!  In my younger years, I had an adorable VW bug convertible – so fun!  But then…… I married and had four kids – and had to get a mini van!  It’s all good and of course I wouldn’t trade my kids for a car……but it’s still my favorite car!

The greeting I used is from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set – love this sentiment!

My card was inspired by  Freshly Made Sketches #451.

Start with a Whisper White Thick card base – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4

Add a panel of Real Red cardstock – 4 x 5 1/4

Next add a panel of Whisper White cut 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

Cut two different patterns of Designer Series Paper – 1 x 4 and 1 x 3, and attach to card front with Stampin’ Seal.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamp the car and the tree images.  Color with Stampin’ Blends-  Real Red Combo, Old Olive Combo, Crumb Cake Dark, Smoky Slate Light.

Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and the Home Together Dies to crop out the images.  Tip: I find it is easier to color these images before I cut them out.

Stamp the greeting with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a Whisper White panel measuring 2 3/8 x 3/4

Tie a bow with Real Red Linen Trim and attach to card front with a glue dot.

Attach the word panel with dimensionals, positioning over the bow.

Stamp the “exhaust” onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut out.  Attach to the back of the car with a glue dot.  Take a look at the stamp – it is meant to be smoke coming out of the chimney – but it’s fun to add to the back of the car, yes?

Attach the tree to the car with glue dots.  Add the car above the word panel with dimensionals.

To finish the card, add a real red dot from the All the Trimmings Embellishments.
