Happy New Year! Wishing you many blessings, health and happiness in 2021!

I thought it would be fun to start out 2021 with some BLOG CANDY!   I am giving away the Snailed It Bundle from the upcoming January-June Mini Catalog!   It is a super cute bundle and since my post yesterday shared some great Snail Mail I received at Christmas, this seemed like the perfect bundle to give away!

To enter, just comment below and let me know what your traditions for New Year’s Day are- do you eat pork and sauerkraut? Black Eyed Peas?  Do you make New Year’s Resolutions or not?   Goals?  Let me know in the comments and you will be entered to win – comment starting today and Sunday, Jan. 3th.   I’ll randomly draw one winner to receive the bundle.   The winner will be announced on Monday, Jan. 4th.

Here’s one of my all-time favorite New Year’s photos – this is my daughter Sarah’s dog, Benny as a puppy – he was celebrating Big Time on his first New Year’s Eve!   He’s a sweetie!

We just spend the day as a family, usually outside playing in the snow, ice-fishing or skating on the lake.

Generally, I like to have pork and sauerkraut on New Years Day! I am not a resolution person, but my hubby is and he likes everyone in the family to make resolutions. I like to spend the day relaxing and making cards!

We always get together with the same 14 friends on New Year’s Eve. This year we had a zoom get together instead and BYOB.

Since our kids are older and do their own thing, normally we celebrate with our neighbor who has no family. We have more appetizers than we can possibly eat then onto Italian beef sandwiches and salad. We watch movies till the NY ball drop in which we hold a penny, have a shot of Bailey’s Irish Creme (not fans of champagne) make a wish for the new year and finalize with a peck on the cheek. Fun times….

New Years Day is very simple with staying at home. My husband is from the south so we do have roasted pork and sauerkraut with side dishes of blackeyed peas, collard greens and corn bread. Never do a New Years Resolutions as I never follow through with them. I do set some type of goal and this year it is to spend less time on media and more time reading in the evening. I already removed the apps off my phone. Looking forward to this set as I do love punches.

We actually do eat pork and sauerkraut for New Year’s, at least I do, my hubby, while of German heritage is no a fan of sauerkraut. I also start getting rid of the sugar in the household and back to some serious eating. I am trying to do better with all my nieces and nephews and the greats birthday cards as well as friends anniversaries, etc. I just recently started card crafting again and am truly enjoying it again. Happy New Year everyone and God bless you all. Take care of yourselves.
