Yesterday I did a Facebook Live on my I’d Rather Bee Stampin’ page. I featured two different bundles but used the same layout for both. It was fun to switch things up a bit and create two different looking cards with the same layout!
Here is the recording of the Facebook Live: Whether you are watching the replay or the recording via my youtube channel, please leave a comment and subscribe! Your name will be entered for a drawing of the projects I create – winners get a project mailed to them!
My first card featured the Honeybee Home bundle – no surprise it’s one of my favorite bundles in the January – June Mini catalog! I used a Smoky Slate card base then stamped the floral image onto a scrap of the “wood grain” pattern from the Heart and Home Designer Series Paper. I cropped this with the dies and added some color with Pale Papaya and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I positioned the die cut onto a 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of the same DSP pattern.
I used the Tasteful Label dies for my word panel – these are on the retiring list! This set of dies are a “go to” of mind for word panels – I recommend getting them before they do retire! Other components of this card include the scallop edge, created with the Scallop Contour Dies and a small strip of Vellum Layering Designs. And don’t you just love the Bee Trinket – they are retiring too! Trust me – I have stocked up on them – they are just such a great addition to so many different cards!! I have also stocked up on the beautiful ribbon (available in several of our current In Colors) – this ribbon is so soft and pretty and easy to work with!
My next card was inspired by a card Shelli Gardner shared – her’s was a totally different layout but I loved the color combo and wanted to give it a try with today’s layout and I love how it turned out! For this card, I used Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee cardstock and ink. The little strip of DSP is from the Heart and Home DSP – like my first card and the Blue pattern is the back side of the wood grain pattern I used on the first card.
I love the leafy die cut on this card – I added just a bit of glue to the base of the die cut, rather than adhere the entire piece. To embellish, I used the Iridescent Rhinestones Basic gems and a bit of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon.
What do you think of this layout? I am really liking it and hope you will give it a try on some of your own projects!
